Scott founded Grandma’s Marathon in 1977, and went on to lead the event as its Executive Director for 37 years. During his tenure at Grandma’s Marathon, the event grew to include 20+ annual events, tens of thousands of athletes, and 9 National Championships. He solicited and secured over $1.1 million of cash and in-kind sponsorships annually resulting in $25 million of sponsorship revenue during his tenure with the organization.
